This illustration challenges the common Halloween stereotype of witches as cackling, broom-riding villains and instead presents a more authentic vision of what a real witch represents. Rather than a figure of fear, she is a wise woman—someone deeply connected to nature, possessing knowledge of the flora and fauna around her. She understands the healing properties of plants and the unspoken language of the natural world. Often misunderstood and historically persecuted, these women were healers, herbalists, and midwives, guiding their communities with wisdom passed down through generations. This piece serves as a reminder that the true essence of a witch is not one of darkness and malice, but of wisdom, intuition, and harmony with nature.
