After Care instructions

If your tattoo is wrapped in cling film take it off when you get home and shower, washing the area in warm(not hot) water. Let it air dry and once dry apply a SMALL amount of cream (Palmers coco butter, Hussle Butter, Bepanthan)you want the cream to absorb into the skin not sit on top. Keeping a tattoo too wet with cream can give bacteria a chance to get into the open wound and cause infection.

If using second skin (Saniderm) take the wrap off after 1-3 days. Take the bandage off while in the shower under running water. Pull from the edges of the bandage outwards to stretch it rather then pull at the bandage and cause it to pull at the skin. Do this all the way around the bandage and then peel off. Lightly with the palm of your clean hand wash the tattoo under clean running water lightly rub with your clean hand to remove any excess plasma and dead skin. Let the tattoo air dry and then apply a SMALL amount of cream onto the tattoo.

Apply a SMALL amount of cream to the tattoo 1-2 times a day. if the skin feels tight then apply some cream

Do not Submerge the tattoo in water. Shower with clean water. No baths, spas, swimming for 2 weeks.

Do not scratch or pick at the shedding skin of your tattoo this will cause ink fallout.

Keep the tattoo clean! Wash at least once a day.

Keep clean, moisturized and out of the sun. Wear loose fitting clothing and breathable fabrics during the healing process.

If appropriate aftercare is not followed infection may occur. For the first week or soit is normalfor the area to be red and tender. Monitor your tattoo(daily) so you can tell is any changes have occured.

The signs of infection are:

Swelling and redness that increase around the wound.
A severe burning and throbbing sensation
Increased tenderness and increasingly painful to touch
An unusual sischarge (yellow or green) with an offensive smell.

Speak to a practitioner or seek medical attention immediately if you suffer from any of the above or have any concerns regarding infection.

Avoid touching the new tattoo site unnecessarily so that exposure to infection is reduced.

The new tattoo will be an area of tiny skin breaks caused by the tattooing needles and needs to be kept covered with the sterile dressing applied by the artist.

After about 2 weeks any dryness should have gone and be replaced with ‘silver’ looking shiny skin for a further two weeks. Still apply a SMALL amount moisturizer once a day at this stage. The tattoo should be healed in 4 weeks.

Any questions about the healing process you can contact me with any questions.

Kind regards,

Rebecka
